How much does a website cost in Singapore?

The honest answer is "it depends". This guide explains what it depends on, so you can read quotes with confidence.

What changes the price

Two websites can look similar and cost very different amounts. These are the things that move the number most:

  • Number of pages. A five-page site is a very different job from thirty service and location pages.
  • Custom design or template. A template is cheaper to start but harder to make stand out. Custom design takes longer but is built around your customers.
  • Who writes the content. If you supply finished text and photos, it's quicker. If the studio writes the pages, that's extra time, and often worth it for search.
  • Features. Online booking, payments, a members' area, a CRM connection or a multi-language site each add work.
  • Editing it yourself. A CMS lets your team update content without a developer. It takes extra setup.
  • Search setup. Basic SEO should be included. Researching and writing pages to rank for specific searches is a bigger job.

The yearly running costs

A website is not a one-off cost. Budget for these every year:

  • Domain name. A .com, .sg or .com.sg renews yearly. A .com.sg needs a Singapore UEN.
  • Hosting. Where your site lives. Cheap hosting is often slow, and speed affects Google rankings.
  • Business email. For example Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, charged per user.
  • Maintenance. Updates, backups and small changes, as needed or on a monthly plan.
  • Marketing. Search or ads, if you want steady new enquiries from Google.

How to compare quotes

When you have two or three quotes, check each one for:

  • A fixed total price, or an hourly rate that can grow.
  • Exactly which pages and features are included.
  • Whether you'll own the domain, design and files.
  • Whether search basics and Google Business Profile setup are included.
  • What happens after launch: support, changes and who to call.
  • A real launch date.
About PSG grants

Some businesses ask whether the Productivity Solutions Grant covers a website. PSG only supports pre-approved solutions from listed vendors, so check the current list on the Business Grants Portal before assuming a project can be claimed.

FAQ

Quick answers.

Is a cheap website a bad idea?

Not always. For a brand-new business, a simple site can be enough. The risk is a slow, generic site that doesn't show up on Google or explain why someone should choose you.

Can I pay monthly instead?

Some agencies offer monthly plans. Check the total over two or three years, and whether you own the site at the end.
