Clinic website rules in plain English.
What dental and medical clinics in Singapore can and can't put on their websites and social media (HCSA).
By Vedanti Pawar, ASVA.studio · Updated 21 Oct 2026
- Avoid"Best dentist in Singapore"
- Avoid"50% off whitening this week only!"
- Do"Teeth whitening, done in-clinic in about 90 minutes."
Who the rules apply to
Healthcare services licensed under Singapore's Healthcare Services Act (HCSA), including dental and medical clinics, follow MOH's advertising regulations, which have applied since January 2022. Institutions still licensed under the older Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics Act follow its advertising rules during the transition.
Your website and social media count as advertising, so the content rules apply to them.
What to avoid on your website
- Copied testimonials. MOH guidance says clinics generally can't copy testimonials, endorsements or photos onto their website or social media, including reposting a patient's social post. Testimonials a patient gives directly to the clinic may be shown on its own website if unaltered and within the content rules.
- Before-and-after photos on websites, social media or ads.
- Superlatives such as "the best clinic in Singapore" or "leading specialists".
- Promotional tactics like discounts, limited-time offers and urgency wording.
- Claims you can't back up, or anything that creates unjustified expectations about results.
What you can include
- Clear, factual descriptions of the treatments you offer.
- Your dentists' or doctors' names and qualifications.
- Address, nearest MRT, hours and how to book.
- Which schemes and insurance you accept, such as CHAS and MediSave where relevant.
- Patient information: what to expect, preparation and aftercare.
A simple review process
For every page: a writer drafts it in plain English, a clinician checks clinical accuracy, someone checks it against the advertising rules, and only then does it go live. It's the process we use with our dental clients.
This guide is general information, not legal advice. For specific questions, check MOH's guidance or speak to your legal adviser.
Quick answers.
Can patients still leave Google reviews?
Yes. The rules are about what the clinic itself copies onto its own website and social media.
Do the rules apply to Instagram and Facebook?
Yes. Social media is a form of advertising, so the same content rules apply.
